Building a Marketing Network in China - SCS and the Swiss Bonded Exhibition Center
Inspired from the demands of Swiss machinery companies and the experiences from the Swiss Machinery Center (a SCS project in 2007 in which the Second Phase has recently been available), we have realized that more and more Swiss companies need to be closer to their clients and the China market. In addition to the existing Swiss Machinery Center in Xinzhuang Industry Park, SCS has newly developed a project in Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone providing with bonded exhibition and demo, warehousing, import & export agency, customs clearance.

February 27, 2009:  

Second Phase of Swiss Machinery Center
With the success of its First Phase, and in order to satisfy a rising demand from the machinery industry, SCS is now providing the Second Phase of Swiss Machinery Center. Conveniently located to Metro Line No.5 & No.1 and to the crossroads of A4 & A20 highways, the Swiss Machinery Center can be the perfect choice for competitively priced workshop for assembly and manufacturing, studio of exhibition and training.
There are two floors (ground and second floor) in the Second Phase, with 1’196 sqm each. The space can be separated and rented out according to members needs in units of 500 sqm for example.
Last but not unimportant, the Swiss Machinery Center is within the biggest cluster of Swiss companies in China. There is only five minutes walking distance to SCS headquarters.
 

December 30, 2008:  

Preferential VAT Treatment for SCS Members
SCS has a confirmation from the tax bureau in Xinzhuang Industrial Park that Swiss Center Companies opening a Foreign Invested Commercial Enterprise (FICE, usually called "trading company") will receive preferential treatment in Minhang in terms of Value Added Tax (VAT) payer status, allowing companies to issue normal VAT invoices with a registered capital of RMB 1 Million (The normal amount in Minhang is RMB 5 Million.). The status will be granted to Swiss Center Members only.

November 11, 2008:  

LNS opens new production plant in China
LNS SA, www.lns-group.com, world leader in bar feeding, has opened a new production facility in Wujiang (a city between Shanghai and Suzhou) for the Asia market. The LNS group has more than 700 collaborators and seven production facilities located in North America, the UK, Taiwan, China and Switzerland.
 

November 10, 2008:  

Swiss doors in the "Bird’s Nest"
Jansen AG, a member of Swiss Center Shanghai, equipped the "Bird’s Nest" - the Chinese National Stadium with more than 400 glazed doors with steel profiles for the VIP rooms. On one hand, the impressive stadium was planned by Swiss architects. On the other, Swiss quality products contributed to the construction. Jansen opened its exhibition and training center in Swiss Machinery Center early this year.
 

September 2, 2008:  

Delegation of the Lausanne City Government visited SCS on 19th Aug.
SCS received the Delegation of the Lausanne City Government to SCS offices, workshops and Swiss Machinery Center, which is led by Mr. Olivier Français – Vice Mayor of Lausanne.
 

 

September 2, 2008:  

Delegation of Greater Zurich Area visited SCS on 22nd Aug.
The Delegation of Greater Zurich Area led by Ms. Rita Fuhrer – Member of Government, Ct. Zurich, visited SCS, Swiss Machinery Center, and Demonstration of Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences in Xinzhuang Industry Park.
 

 

August 18, 2008:  

Mr. Adolf Ogi visited SCS on 6th Aug.
Cooperating with Swiss Economic Forum, SCS organized the delegation “Exclusive Powerpreneur – Journey to Asia” to Shanghai and Hong Kong, which is led by former President of Switzerland Mr. Adolf Ogi and 12 Swiss entrepreneurs.

www.ditzlerindap.ch as a production subsidiary of Ditzler Indap AG – SCS member, Ditzler Indap Precision Components Co., Ltd was established in Suzhou on 20th March 2007, and started the production on 1st October. Ditzler Indap AG is a manufacturer of special apparatus, pressure vessels, storage tanks and valves in plastics, ferritic and austenitic steels or nickel-base alloys.

The Swiss Center Shanghai welcomes Ms. Emilie Kang, 3 years studies in Business Administration in France, fluent in English, French and Mandarin. She assists Mr. Fabio Speciale, 2 years head of communication with the Italian Embassy in Berne, fluent in Italian, German, French, English and Spanish.
The team is completed by Yang Jingjing, 6 years study and work in Switzerland.

The discussion focus on the problem these companies meet during daily operation and questions are answered by the officials. Banque Cantonale Vaudoise Delegation
Well organized the delegation from Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) in Shanghai Sep 23rd to 25th. The delegation is led by Mr. Alexandre Zeller, CEO of BCV. SCS is responsible for the program, budget, logistics, accommodation arrangement, and all the company visits. Six delegates are journalists from different media in Switzerland, i.e. Le Martin, PME Magazine, etc.

Co-organize with SOFI (Swiss Organization for Facilitating Investmentfor) "Nanchang Mission delegation from Canton Zurich. The delegation is led by Mrs. Susanne Grossmann, Director of Asia, SOFI, and Mr. Stephan Kux, Head of Economic Development, Canton Zurich. SCS provide interpretation service in Nanchang from June 27th to 29th and fully responsible to organize the visits in Shanghai and Suzhou from June 30th to July 2nd.

St-Gallen-Appenzell Delegation
Well organized IHK St-Gallen-Appenzell delegation in Shanghai May 14th to 20th. The delegation is leaded by Mr. Hubertus Schmid, the president of St-Gallen Chamber of Commerce. SCS is responsible for the program, budget, logistics, accommodation arrangement, and all the executive visits.

The Swiss Center Shanghai at «10 vor 10» (Swiss TV channel SF1)
On Friday, October 15, the Swiss TV channel SF1 broadcasted as usual on a weekday the “10 vor 10” program. One part of that program was dedicated to the Swiss Center Shanghai and two member companies. The movie is currently available at two following websites: SFDRS and swissinfo.org.

The rental is US$5.00 per month per square meter plus the property management fee US$0.10 per month per square meter, so the monthly rental is US$2’633.- + 5.82% business tax, equivalent to RMB21’853.90 + 5.82% of business tax.

More informationMr. REN Zhanbing and Mr. Nicolas MUSY – both SCS board members – received a Special Alumni Award at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne.
Mr. Ren was awarded for his work in the human, scientific and technical fields and for his achievements and managerial skills when working with different cultures and environments.
Mr. Musy was awarded for his achievements as an entrepreneur and innovator and for bringing positive visibility to the ETH Lausanne.

At the 3rd worldwide Congress of the chambers, which was held from September 15 to 17, 2003, in Quebec, Canada, the Chamber of commerce of the Swiss Canton of Fribourg won the price of the “Best international project” for the «Swiss Center Shanghai».
